Getting started

What Lumio does, and what it does not

A calm monthly plan and an honest safe-to-spend number — not a bank, and not financial advice.

The idea in one paragraph

You tell Lumio what you expect to earn this month, how much you want to keep spending under, and how much you want to save. Lumio then keeps one number honest as real transactions arrive: what is still safe to spend.

Everything else — budgets by category, savings goals, an emergency fund, bills and debts, planning a wedding — hangs off that single monthly picture.

What Lumio is not

Lumio is a record and a plan. It is not a bank, a payment provider, or an accountant, and it does not give financial advice.

  • It does not hold your money or move it.
  • It does not connect to your bank account, so it cannot see your balance or read your bank history.
  • It records what you tell it about money you have already spent or received.

It is in beta

Lumio is invite-only while it is being built. Features change, and you should keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. Settings has an export.
